About the Editors

Lisa Doran and Lisa Caron: LISA DORAN: I took my doula training with ALACE in 1991 and have been working as a doula since along with practicing as a Naturopathic Doctor at my clinic Barefoot Health since 1997. I specialize with women who wish to be pregnant, who are pregnant, and who have just given birth. I also teach Maternal-Newborn Care at Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. I attend about 20 births a year and it is an area of health and wellness I feel called to. So much of our children's health and so much of our health as mothers relates to our births. I have three rapidly growing homebirthed sons who amaze and inspire me every day. I live on the Danforth where I garden, play my fiddle and express myself with fiber art. www.barefoothealth.ca LISA CARON: The life changing birth of my daughter was my catalyst to share the power of birth. I came to birth work while volunteering with pregnant teens in 1996. I have attended close to 300 births in homes and hospitals as a doula in Toronto. In my passion to foster healthy, confident families I am also a postpartum doula with extensive breastfeeding experience.
